Anna  D'Aste  has been a clayartist for almost 40 years and a mosaics artist for twenty years.

Art has always been in Anna's life.  As a child she loved to draw,color,paint and construct elaborate kingdoms for her animal collection. 

As a teen Anna loved art class

best and in her junior year of high school learned how to sculpt, mold and throw clay.

After graduating high school she continued to take lessons in clay untill she went away to college. Where eventually Anna decided to major in art. After

 receiving her AA degree from

Santa Fe Comm. College , Gainesville , Fl.,  Anna got the chance to travel to England to visit her sister.

 

 

 

 

 

After England she was able to travel

 

through France, Belgium, and Spain

 

soaking in all the the wonderful art

 

and architechture those countrys

 

have to offer.

 

Eventually settling in Belgium where

 

she married and stayed for ten years.

 

Anna continued to study and learn

 

about clay in Belgium and in England.

 

Once she learned to fire a kiln she

 

began to give clay lessons in a

 

community center in the town where

 

she lived in Belgium.  in return she

 

could fire all she made herself for free. 

 

It was in Belgium Anna tried her hand

 

at selling what she created in clay for

 

the first time.
